Selection process
There is no competitive selection panel, shortlisting or merit ranking to clear. The subsidy is an entitlement for eligible Uttarakhand residential consumers, so the process is really a compliance sequence that runs from application to money in your bank account.
- Step 1 — Register and apply online: Register on the MNRE solar rooftop portal (solarrooftop.gov.in) and submit your application there, recording your intent and basic project details.
- Step 2 — Obtain the No Objection Certificate: UPCL (Uttaranchal Power Corporation Limited) issues an NOC online after your application. You need this before going ahead with installation.
- Step 3 — Install the solar plant: With the NOC in hand, install the rooftop system. The vendor must be registered with UPCL, which keeps the work compliant with quality and safety standards.
- Step 4 — Grid connection and net metering: UPCL connects your plant to the main electricity grid and installs a net meter, which records both the power you draw from the grid and the power you supply to it.
- Step 5 — Upload records and receive the subsidy: Installation reports and connection details are uploaded to the MNRE portal, and you submit your bank account details there so the eligible subsidy is released directly to you.
