Selection process
Applications are not decided by a single office — the proposal travels through three levels before any money is released.
- Horticulture Mobile team Centre: the proposal is received and processed here first. Staff at the centre can also help an applicant complete the proposal if they run into difficulty.
- District level: the centre forwards the proposal to the district, which passes it upward.
- Directorate: the directorate carries out the full evaluation and gives the final decision on approval.
- Approval and work order: once the directorate clears the proposal, the district office issues the approval and work order, and the applicant is informed by letter and by phone.
- Loan stage: the applicant secures bank loan approval with assistance from departmental officers and then reports the loan sanction back to the department.
- Implementation: the facility is set up under the technical guidance and supervision of departmental officers.
- Joint inspection: after completion, a joint team of departmental officers inspects the site to verify that everything has been built as specified.
- Disbursal: once the inspection is cleared, the subsidy is credited to the applicant's loan account.
