Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Tripura Udyam ZED Extra Subsidy — Up to ₹10L for MSMEs — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.
Frequently asked questions
How much money can I actually receive under this head?
The maximum is ₹10.00 lakhs, available on the top slab which applies to units whose plant-and-machinery investment is above ₹10 crore. Lower investment bands receive a smaller ceiling — ₹2.00 lakhs or ₹5.00 lakhs.
How is my subsidy amount worked out?
The Department looks at how much you have invested in plant and machinery and places your unit in the matching band. Investment up to ₹1 crore gives a ceiling of ₹2.00 lakhs, investment from ₹1 crore to ₹10 crore gives ₹5.00 lakhs, and investment above ₹10 crore gives ₹10.00 lakhs. The crore figures are investment bands, not the subsidy.
Who is eligible to claim this incentive?
An MSME that is registered on the Udyam portal and that holds ZED certification from the Ministry of MSME, operating in Tripura and claiming under TIIPIS 2022. Both registrations are compulsory — a unit missing either one cannot claim.
Do I need DPIIT Startup India recognition to apply?
No. DPIIT recognition is not part of the requirement for this head. The conditions that matter are Udyam registration and ZED certification.
Is MSME or Udyam registration required?
Yes. Udyam registration is one of the two core eligibility conditions. On top of that, the unit must hold a valid ZED certificate issued by the Ministry of MSME.
Is this a loan, or does the State take equity in my company?
Neither. This is a subsidy, so no equity is taken and founders keep full ownership. The amount is also not repayable.
Can I claim this subsidy every year?
No. It is a one-time extra subsidy under TIIPIS 2022 and is not a recurring yearly head.
Where do I submit the application?
Through the Government of Tripura's SWAAGAT single-window portal at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/, filing a claim under TIIPIS 2022 for the extra subsidy meant for Udyam-registered, ZED-certified MSMEs.
Is there a last date to apply?
No closing date is advertised for this incentive. Claims are accepted on a rolling basis under TIIPIS 2022.
What documents will I need?
Your Udyam registration certificate, the ZED certificate issued by the Ministry of MSME, and evidence of the investment you have made in plant and machinery so the Department can fix the correct slab.
