Selection process
The route to approval runs in two phases.
Registration. The application goes to the Industries Commissionerate, which reviews it and may call for additional details within 15 days. The file is then passed to the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC) for a site visit and an inspection report. On the strength of that report, the Industries Commissionerate may issue a Registration Certificate for the project.
Sanction. Once the Registration Certificate is in hand and the project's layout plan has been approved, the developer submits a fresh application in the prescribed format, supported by a detailed project report and the required documents, to the Industries Commissionerate. The Commissionerate scrutinises the papers and may again ask for missing details within 15 days. The applicant is then required to present the project in person to a Screening Committee chaired by the Industries Commissioner, whose review produces feedback and remarks that the applicant must address.
After those remarks are dealt with, the file moves to the Sanctioning Authority, which grants final approval in line with the scheme guidelines and the committee's recommendations.
