Selection process

Applications can be filed online through the Investor Facilitation Portal or offline through the Industries Commissionerate, and both routes feed into the same assessment chain.

  • Registration and project validation. Online applicants register on the Investor Facilitation Portal (https://ifp.gujarat.gov.in/DIGIGOV/), verify their email address, and file their business and project details along with the mandatory documents. Offline applicants submit the prescribed form and documents to the Industries Commissionerate.
  • Initial scrutiny. The Industries Commissionerate reviews the application and may ask for anything missing within 15 days of submission.
  • Site visit and inspection. The file is forwarded to the General Manager of the relevant District Industries Centre (DIC), who conducts a mandatory site visit and files an inspection report on the proposed facility.
  • Registration Certificate. Based on the DIC report and further review, the Industries Commissionerate may issue a Registration Certificate for the project.
  • Sanction application. Once the project is registered and the layout plan approved, a separate application for sanction is submitted in the prescribed format, along with a detailed project report and supporting documents.
  • Screening Committee presentation. Applicants present their project in detail to a Screening Committee chaired by the Industries Commissioner. The committee evaluates feasibility, alignment with the scheme's objectives, and other criteria, and records its remarks.
  • Final approval. The Sanctioning Authority gives the final decision after the committee's remarks are addressed and compliance with scheme guidelines is confirmed.
