Gujarat Integrated Logistics Facilities Interest Subsidy Scheme — Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Gujarat Integrated Logistics Facilities Interest Subsidy Scheme — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does this Gujarat scheme fund?
It funds the interest cost on term loans sanctioned for setting up new integrated logistics facilities and logistics parks in Gujarat. The subsidy is calculated on the actual disbursed portion of the sanctioned term loan, and it also covers the interest payable during the moratorium period. It is not a grant for construction or equipment — the benefit is tied to the interest you pay on your term loan.
Who is eligible to apply for the interest subsidy?
Private developers taking up new integrated logistics facilities or logistics parks in Gujarat can apply. Four conditions matter: the unit or project must be new, the first disbursement of the term loan must fall within 2 August 2021 to 1 August 2026, the developer must not be declared a defaulter under RBI guidelines, and repayment of the loan principal must be made on time.
How much funding will I receive?
The scheme does not set out a flat figure. The amount varies because the subsidy is calculated on the actual amount disbursed under your sanctioned term loan, so developers with larger drawdowns receive proportionately more support. Your exact entitlement is determined once your loan and project details are assessed.
What is the deadline for this scheme?
The scheme operates from 2 August 2021 to 1 August 2026, and that closing date of 1 August 2026 is the effective deadline. What has to fall within the operative period is the first disbursement date of the term loan, so a project whose loan has not yet been disbursed by then will not qualify.
Can an existing logistics facility or park apply?
No. The subsidy applies strictly to new units or projects. The purpose is to draw fresh private investment into Gujarat's logistics infrastructure, so facilities that are already built and running are outside the scope of the scheme.
Does the subsidy pay interest while my loan is in the moratorium period?
Yes. Covering interest during the moratorium is one of the scheme's most valuable features, because that is the phase when a logistics facility is being developed and has little or no revenue coming in. The support keeps the project financially steady through that early stretch.
Does the government take equity or a stake in my project?
No. This is an interest subsidy, which is non-dilutive by nature. The assistance is applied against the interest on your term loan, and the scheme does not involve the government acquiring equity or any ownership stake in your project.
Do I need DPIIT or MSME registration to apply?
The eligibility conditions listed for this scheme do not include a DPIIT or MSME registration requirement. What the scheme focuses on is that the project is new, that the term loan's first disbursement falls inside the operative period, that the developer is not an RBI-declared defaulter, and that principal repayment is made on time.
How and where do I apply?
You can apply online or offline. Online, register on the Investor Facilitation Portal at https://ifp.gujarat.gov.in/DIGIGOV/ by clicking New Investor Registration, fill in your company and project details, and verify your email to activate the account. After logging in, complete the application and upload all mandatory supporting documents. Offline, submit the prescribed form with the required documents to the Industries Commissionerate, which may seek missing details within 15 days.
What happens after I submit my application?
The Industries Commissionerate reviews the file and, for offline applications, forwards it to the General Manager of the relevant District Industries Centre, who conducts a mandatory site visit and files an inspection report. A Registration Certificate may then be issued. Once the project is registered and the layout plan approved, you file a separate sanction application with a detailed project report, present the project to a Screening Committee chaired by the Industries Commissioner, and the Sanctioning Authority grants final approval in line with scheme guidelines.
