Selection process

  • Step 1 — Application proforma: The applicant obtained the prescribed proforma from the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce, or downloaded the format from its official website.
  • Step 2 — Completing the form: The form was printed, every mandatory field filled in, a passport-sized photograph affixed, and self-attested copies of all necessary documents attached.
  • Step 3 — Submission: The signed application, along with the supporting documents, was submitted to the Director, Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce.
  • Step 4 — Scrutiny and verification: The Director scrutinised the application and verified whether the unit met the scheme's conditions. This was normally wrapped up within three months of the application date.
  • Step 5 — Approval and disbursement: On approval, the subsidy was released within six months of the application being received, capped at ₹2,00,000 or the actual expense, whichever was less.
