Selection process
Applications are cleared in stages, and each stage has to be satisfied before the next one begins.
- Query and shortfall review: Once the application is submitted, the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) examines it for gaps and raises queries that the applicant must respond to.
- Verification and on-site inspection: After the application and documents are verified, DITC assigns an official to inspect the entity and check its records against a verification-cum-recommendation checklist. The inspection report is uploaded to the portal within 48 hours and is accessible to the entrepreneur.
- Due diligence by Goa-IPB: The file then goes to the Chief Executive Officer, Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) for due diligence.
- Appraisal by the Incentive Review Committee: On receiving Goa-IPB's recommendation, DITC prepares an appraisal note for the Incentive Review Committee, which scrutinises and deliberates on the claim before sanctioning it.
- Sanction and disbursement: Based on the committee's recommendation, DITC prepares an approval note for the Accounts Department, which releases the sanctioned incentive to eligible entities in chronological order.
- Follow-up inspections: Concerned officers conduct inspections every six months to confirm the devices are being used properly and that the entity continues to meet the eligibility conditions.
