Selection process

The Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) first reviews the application it has received and may raise queries with the applicant if any shortfall is noticed in the form or in the documents filed.

Once the paperwork clears verification, DITC designates an official to inspect the entity and check its records and documents against the verification-cum-recommendation checklist (Annexure X). The inspection report is uploaded to the portal within 48 hours and is made available to the entrepreneur. The inspection covers the address of the land or building, the category of the project, the date of completion of construction, and the date on which commercial operations began.

The file then goes to the Chief Executive Officer, Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB), for due diligence. Based on Goa-IPB's recommendation, DITC prepares an appraisal note for the Incentive Review Committee (IRC), the body that scrutinises and sanctions the claims.

After the IRC's recommendation, DITC prepares the final approval note and hands it to the Accounts Department for disbursal. Sanctioned claims are taken up in chronological order and paid out within a maximum of 90 days from the date the application was received.
