Overview
Electropreneur Park OCP 3.0 is the current round of the Open Challenge Program run by Electropreneur Park (EP), an electronics incubator in Delhi that is funded entirely by MeitY, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The challenge invites aspiring and early-stage technology founders from anywhere in India to build in Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), including emerging areas such as cognitive computing and social sensing.
The programme works as a launchpad rather than a one-time cheque. Chosen teams receive seed funding and then incubate at EP's Centers of Excellence, where they can use specialised labs, tools and designing software, work out of furnished office space, and take mentoring from industry and domain experts. Support carries through to prototyping, training, patenting, marketing and go-to-market work, so a team can move from an idea to a tested, sellable product within one ecosystem.
OCP also carries a wider mandate. EP is working to build globally competitive ESDM startups, generate intellectual property and new products, and back service and trading MSMEs in step with the Make in India push. Over a five-year horizon the programme plans to serve 200 startups and MSME beneficiaries through pre-incubation, incubation, virtual incubation, acceleration, MSME acceleration and Launchpad tracks, and to set up more than 10 spoke centres that nurture students and budding entrepreneurs.
EP's track record since it was set up in August 2016 gives a sense of the ecosystem: 59 startups supported, 183 prototypes developed, 129 products created, 66 IPRs and patents filed, ₹25.79 crore of investment attracted by associated startups, and ₹149 crore in cumulative revenue. MeitY has approved a five-year continuation phase, Electropreneur Park 2.0.
The OCP 3.0 application window closes on 6 October 2026, and submissions are made online through the programme portal.

Who can apply
OCP 3.0 is open to ESDM, corporate and student applicants from across India. You do not need to be a scaled company — the programme welcomes ideas at the ideation stage, early or pre-revenue startups, teams with a prototype ready for testing or implementation, and ventures with breakthrough technology looking for a route to market. Pre-incubation support is available for exceptional ideas.
On the entity side, the applicant must be one of:
- a Private Limited Company,
- a registered Partnership Firm, or
- a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
Two hard limits apply. The entity must not be more than 10 years old from its date of registration or incorporation, and its annual turnover must not have crossed ₹100 crore in any financial year since incorporation. The business also has to be genuinely new — an entity formed by splitting up or reconstructing an existing business is not eligible.
If your company is not registered yet, you can still apply in the names of the promoters or founders. Registration must then be completed within three months of selection for the Center of Excellence.
Beyond the paperwork, reviewers look for innovation, scalability, and the ability to generate employment or create wealth. Your solution must fall within the ESDM domain, or in cognitive computing and social sensing.

What the funding covers
Selected startups and MSMEs receive seed funding to get the venture moving. The programme does not quote a fixed figure — the amount varies by case — and it also opens doors to further capital, including introductions to an empanelled group of investors and assistance with CSR funding.
The non-cash support is substantial:
- Lab and design infrastructure: access to state-of-the-art ESDM laboratories, 3D modelling and 3D printer facilities, and modern designing software.
- Workspace: furnished office space with high-speed internet, conference and meeting rooms, a pantry, 24x7 power backup and security.
- Product help: prototyping assistance and guidance on improving the product.
- Incubation tracks: virtual incubation and acceleration support.
- Mentoring: hands-on guidance from industry and domain experts.
- Professional services: legal and accounting support for compliance and growth.
- IP and market: IPR filing assistance, business connects and go-to-market support.
- Exposure: connections to national and international events for networking and market expansion.
Together these cover the practical gaps most hardware and deep-tech teams face — where to build, whom to ask, and how to reach the first customers.

Selection process
Every application goes through a centralised, multi-tier screening process rather than a single review. Experts drawn from the relevant domains assess the entries, so each idea is judged by people who understand both the technology and the market it targets.
A dedicated Startup Selection Evaluation Committee owns the process end to end — screening, evaluation, and the final selection and onboarding of eligible startups and MSMEs. The committee's decision is final and binding on all applicants, which keeps the methodology consistent and fair.
Because the screening runs in multiple tiers, expect your application to be examined on both the strength of the innovation and its fit with ESDM, cognitive computing and social sensing.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Electropreneur Park OCP 3.0 programme?
It is an open challenge run by Electropreneur Park, a Delhi-based ESDM incubator funded by MeitY, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The programme is built to identify, nurture and fund aspiring and early-stage technology entrepreneurs and innovators working in electronics design and manufacturing, along with cognitive computing and social sensing. Teams that get through enter an incubation setup that combines seed funding with lab access, mentoring and market support.
How much seed funding does OCP 3.0 offer?
The programme provides seed funding, but it does not publish a fixed amount — the figure is listed as varying and is settled through the evaluation and selection cycle. Alongside the seed fund, EP helps founders reach its empanelled group of investors and facilitates CSR funding, so how much capital a venture can raise in total depends on how it progresses inside the programme.
Who is eligible to apply for OCP 3.0?
Applications are open to ESDM, corporate and student applicants from across India. A startup can be at the ideation stage, at an early or pre-revenue stage, or have a prototype ready for testing and implementation; ventures with breakthrough technologies also apply. The solution must sit in ESDM or in cognitive computing and social sensing, and applicants need to demonstrate innovation, scalability and the ability to generate employment or create wealth.
Do I need a registered company to apply?
Not at the application stage. If your entity is not registered yet, you can apply in the names of the promoters or founders. However, company registration must be completed within three months of selection for the Center of Excellence. Applicants who are already registered must be a Private Limited Company, a registered Partnership Firm, or a Limited Liability Partnership.
Is there a turnover limit or an age limit for the company?
Yes, both apply. The entity must not be more than 10 years old from its date of registration or incorporation, and its annual turnover must not exceed ₹100 crore in any financial year since incorporation. An entity created by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business is not eligible.
Is DPIIT recognition or MSME registration mandatory for OCP 3.0?
The published eligibility conditions do not list DPIIT recognition or MSME registration as a prerequisite. Selection turns on the entity type allowed, the 10-year age limit, the ₹100 crore turnover ceiling, and the innovation and ESDM focus of the solution. MSMEs are explicitly part of the beneficiary group the programme supports, which also covers pre-incubation, incubation, virtual incubation, acceleration and dedicated MSME acceleration tracks.
Does Electropreneur Park take equity in my startup?
The support under OCP is a grant, so the seed funding is non-dilutive — the programme does not take a stake in your company for the funding it provides. EP does connect selected teams with its empanelled investors and helps with CSR funding; any investment arising from those introductions would be negotiated separately between you and the investor.
What non-financial support do selected startups receive?
Teams get furnished office space with high-speed internet, conference and meeting rooms, a pantry, 24x7 power backup and security; access to ESDM laboratories with 3D modelling, 3D printing and modern designing software; prototyping assistance; mentoring from industry and domain experts; virtual incubation and acceleration; legal and accounting services; business connects; product improvement guidance; IPR filing assistance; go-to-market support; and connections to national and international events.
How are applications evaluated?
All applications go through a rigorous, centralised, multi-tier screening process involving experts from the relevant domains. A dedicated Startup Selection Evaluation Committee handles screening, evaluation and the final selection and onboarding of eligible startups and MSMEs. The committee's decision is final and binding on all applicants.
How and when do I apply for OCP 3.0?

Before you start, make sure your idea fits ESDM or cognitive computing and social sensing, and if your entity is not registered yet, apply in the names of the founders and plan to complete registration within three months of selection.
