You can claim back 50% of what you spent buying the technology, and the payout is capped at ₹10 lakh per technology purchase. So if your invoice is ₹12 lakh, the reimbursement works out to ₹6 lakh; if the invoice is ₹40 lakh, you receive the full ₹10 lakh ceiling and nothing above it.

Two things decide it. Your unit has to be a pharmaceutical sector industry, and the technology you bought needs to have come from the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) or another recognised government research centre. Since this is a Chhattisgarh state incentive, it is intended for pharmaceutical industries operating within the state.

NRDC is the example named in the policy, but it is not the only option. Technology sourced from other accredited government research centres in India also counts. What will not qualify is technology bought from a private company or an institution that is not a recognised government research centre.

Neither. It is a subsidy paid out as a reimbursement of money you have already spent, so it is non-repayable and no stake is taken in your company in return. Think of it as recovering part of your technology capex rather than raising capital.

There is no fixed closing date. The scheme runs on a rolling basis, which means applications can be filed at any point while the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30 framework is in force.

Applications are handled through the state's industrial department channel. The online single-window portal at https://swsportal.cgstate.gov.in/login/ is where you file, and the prescribed form can also be obtained through the department's portal or designated offices.

Expect to provide the completed application form, documentary proof that your unit is legally registered as a pharmaceutical industry in Chhattisgarh along with operational licences and business proofs, and original invoices, payment receipts and bank statements evidencing the technology purchase. You will also need a technical note describing the acquired technology, what it does, how you plan to apply it and what impact you expect on your operations.

A committee appointed by the Government of Chhattisgarh or the relevant industrial department reviews it. The committee checks that you are an eligible applicant, that the technology purchase is authentic and properly documented, and that the claim complies with the conditions of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30. If it clears these checks, the reimbursement is processed.

The scheme details available do not list DPIIT recognition or MSME registration as a requirement. Eligibility as published turns on two factors — being a pharmaceutical sector industry and having sourced the technology from NRDC or another government research centre.

The policy document does not set any minimum or maximum age for the pharmaceutical industry to be eligible. There is, however, a geographical condition: the subsidy is offered by the Government of Chhattisgarh for pharmaceutical industries operating within the state.
