Selection process

Once an application is filed, it follows a set assessment path:

  • Initial screening. The department checks that the submission is complete and that the applicant clears the basic conditions in FPP 4.0 — the correct type of entity, and a project built around expansion, diversification or modernisation.
  • Detailed evaluation. A committee of officials and experts from the Andhra Pradesh Industries Department examines the proposal itself, weighing technical feasibility, economic viability and how far the upgrade would lift the applicant's productivity and growth. Proposals with the strongest industrial value and the closest fit with the state's development objectives move ahead.
  • Discussion or site visit. Shortlisted applicants may be called in for further discussions, or visited on site, so that the project details and claims can be verified.
  • Sanction. The committee's overall assessment decides final selection. Applicants are contacted for clarifications or extra information, and on approval the incentive is sanctioned with a disbursement schedule.

From the applicant's side, the sequence is: read the FPP 4.0 policy document, particularly Section 4.0, on the Andhra Pradesh Industries Department website; put the paperwork together; file the form online or at the district industries centre; and respond to any queries raised during evaluation.
