• The application and every supporting document are examined by the authorities, typically drawn from the Department of Industries.
• The energy audit report, the auditor's invoices and the proof of payment are checked against the conditions laid down in MEDP 4.0 and FPP 4.0.
• The review tests authenticity and compliance — that the audit genuinely took place and the costs were genuinely incurred — rather than ranking applicants against one another.
• Confirming that the applicant fits the eligible categories (MSME, FPO, SHG, Federation, Cooperative or Society, as applicable) is decisive for approval.
• Once the competent authority clears the claim, the eligible amount is released to the enterprise's designated bank account.
