How to Apply for Subsidy for Quality Improvement — Up to ₹7.5L for West Bengal Tourism Units

There is no competitive ranking here — the assessment is a verification and compliance check rather than a contest between applicants. The steps run as follows:

1. Project report prepared. The unit commissions a detailed feasibility or project report for the proposed investment.
2. Financial sanction secured. That report must be approved and sanctioned by a Central Financial Institution, a Commercial Bank, or a State Financial Institution.
3. WBTDC certificates issued. The West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited reviews the unit's arrangements and, once satisfied, issues the Registration Certificate, Date of Commencement Certificate and Eligibility Certificate.
4. Online application filed. With those prerequisites in hand, the unit submits the incentive application and supporting documents through the Shilpasathi portal.
5. Review and expenditure verification. Authorities examine the submitted papers and verify the capital investment actually incurred on quality improvement, modernisation, pollution control and certification.
6. Final approval by WBTDC. Approval rests with the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited.

Applicants receive status updates by SMS and email as the file moves through submission, approval or rejection, and the portal's status page allows continuous monitoring. Once approval is granted and all stages are completed, the approved certificates can be downloaded from the online system.
