You will need your Aadhaar card, an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, a permanent residence certificate, a photograph, identity proof, an affidavit, proof of the proposed work and investment, educational qualification documents, bank account details, caste certificate, disability certificate if applicable, and a ration card. For vehicle purchases a valid driving licence is required, and for non-vehicle projects you need training-related documents. Any other documents relevant to your proposal should also be attached.

Applications are made online through the MSY portal at https://msy.uk.gov.in/frontend/web/index.php. Your application is forwarded to the District Tourism Development Officer of your district, who convenes a committee chaired by the District Magistrate and invites you for an interview. If your proposal is approved, it is sent online to the bank branch you selected, the bank completes the loan process and disburses the loan, and after you finish the purchase or project and departmental officials verify it, the grant is released to your bank branch.

It is not paid at the start. Once the vehicle purchase or the non-vehicle project is complete, you inform the District Tourism Development Officer, departmental officials carry out an inspection to verify the work, and the approved grant is then released to your bank branch in accordance with the scheme's regulations.
