Selection process
Selection happens in stages, beginning at the district level.
- Site inspection: the District Officer visits the proposed location and verifies the project along with the group's ability to run it.
- Recommendation: the District Officer forwards the proposal, with his or her comments, to the District Magistrate.
- Directorate review: the consolidated list of recommended groups is then sent to the Director of the Youth Welfare and PRD Directorate.
- Final selection and monitoring: the Director makes the final choice of beneficiaries and picks at least two youth groups from every district, so that the benefits are distributed evenly within the sanctioned budget. The same list is used for follow-up monitoring.
