There is no competitive shortlisting here. The process is a verification exercise carried out by the designated authority, which first confirms that the applicant holds the required status under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Investment & Employment Promotion Policy 2022.

• Eligibility check: confirmation that the applicant qualifies either as an Eligible Industrial Undertaking with a sanctioned Investment Promotion Subsidy or as a Standalone R&D Unit with incentives sanctioned under the policy.
• Expenditure review: scrutiny of the costs claimed for registering the patent, copyright, trademark or Geographical Indicator.
• In-house R&D evidence: examination of proof that the intellectual property emerged from the applicant's own research and development activity.
• Compliance review: the claim is assessed against the terms and conditions set out in the policy.
• Processing: once documents and eligibility are verified, the reimbursement is processed and disbursed.
