Selection process
Assessment happens in stages across two agencies.

- Cross-verification by the DRDA: the District Rural Development Agency checks the details against the BPL list and compiles a list of shortlisted beneficiaries.
- Final approval: the Directorate of Social Welfare approves the final list.
- Disbursal: the subsidy is released to the approved beneficiaries.
- Post-disbursal checks: random field verifications are carried out to confirm the vehicle is actually being used for the intended self-employment purpose.
