How much money does the Solar Power Subsidy Scheme provide?

Is there a last date to apply for this subsidy?
No. The scheme runs on a rolling basis and stays open, with no fixed closing date. An IT Unit can submit its claim quarterly, half-yearly or annually, once the relevant expenditure has actually been incurred.
Who is eligible to claim the subsidy?
IT Units with operations in Goa — both those already running and those newly established. The unit must be registered with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) for producing solar power, and the bank accounts of the unit, its partners or its directors must be linked to Aadhaar.
Which kinds of business entities can apply?

How do I apply for the scheme?
Applications go through the Goa Online portal at goaonline.gov.in. You register with an email ID and mobile number verified by OTP, fill in the registration form with your login credentials, accept the declaration and terms and conditions, and sign up. After logging in, go to Services, select IT Services, and open the Solar Power Subsidy Scheme to complete the form, upload the required supporting documents and submit. A unique registration number is generated once you submit — save it for tracking your application.
How long does the process take, and when is the money released?
Scrutiny of the application takes roughly 30 days from receipt. Approval by the Empowered Committee happens at around 60 days, and the sanction order along with disbursement of eligible amounts comes at roughly 90 days from the date the application was received. Claims are processed in the order they arrive and are approved depending on the budget available.
Can I claim for solar spending I made before applying?
Yes. Claims are filed after the expenditure has been incurred — quarterly, half-yearly or annually — and the benefit applies to spending made during the operational period of the policy.
Is this subsidy meant only for IT businesses?
