Frequently asked questions

How much funding can I get from the Saksham Scheme for Backward Classes?

Eligible applicants can borrow up to ₹10,00,000, that is ₹10 lakh. The money comes as a loan, so it has to be repaid.

What type of professional establishment can I set up with this loan?

The scheme covers a defined set of professional units: Doctors' Clinics, Nursing Homes, Physiotherapy Clinics, Bio-Medical Labs, Lawyers' Offices, Engineering Units, Chemist Shops and Architect Offices.

Who is eligible to apply?

You need to be a permanent resident of Haryana, be between 18 and 35 years of age, belong to the Backward Class category, have an annual family income of no more than ₹3,00,000, and hold professional and academic training relevant to the establishment you plan to set up.

Is there an age limit for applicants?

Yes. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 35 years to qualify.

What is the family income limit under the scheme?

Your annual family income from all sources must not cross ₹3,00,000. The same ceiling applies whether you live in a rural or an urban area.

Is this a grant, and does the scheme take equity in my business?

Neither. The Saksham Scheme provides a repayable loan, which makes it a debt instrument rather than a grant. Since it is borrowed money, no equity or ownership share in your venture is handed over in exchange.

Is there a last date to submit the application?

No. The scheme operates on a rolling basis with no closing date, so you can apply whenever your documents and plans are ready.

How do I apply for the Saksham Scheme?

Applications are made online through the Antyodaya-SARAL portal.
