Which stages of startups are eligible?

Startups at any stage – from just an idea, to product development, to revenue generating – are welcome to apply.

Is DPIIT registration required? What about MSME?

Yes, the startup must be DPIIT-recognised. That is non-negotiable. An MSME/Udyam registration is not required for this scheme.

Are there sector restrictions?

No specific industry restrictions were stated. As long as you are a DPIIT startup and meet all other criteria, you could be eligible regardless of sector.

Does this subsidy involve taking equity in my startup?

No. This is a pure subsidy (financial grant), and it is considered non-dilutive. The government does not take any stake or repayable loan in exchange for this support.

What about the lease – must it be in my startup’s name?

Yes. The lease agreement must be legally valid and in the startup’s official name. You must prove that your startup pays the rent directly.

How often will I get reimbursed?

Reimbursements are deposited quarterly (or per the schedule published on the Invest Punjab portal), after you submit quarterly rent proofs.

Where is my office supposed to be located to qualify?

Your workspace must be located in Punjab, strictly inside a recognised incubator, an IT park, or a designated industrial cluster. Leasing anywhere else will not be supported.

What documents will I need while applying?

The documents required include the DPIIT startup certificate, the valid rent lease deed (agreement), monthly rent receipts or traces of rent payment from bank statements, and the startup’s bank account details that would receive the reimbursement.
