FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Scheme of Assistance to SC/ST Entrepreneurs — ₹2L PIPDIC Loan — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much funding does this scheme provide?

PIPDIC sanctions a loan of up to ₹2,00,000. The money is extended as repayable debt, which means the promoter does not surrender any equity or ownership in the business in exchange for it.

Who is eligible to apply?

The promoter must be a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe entrepreneur. The business itself has to be a micro-enterprise — either one you are setting up for the first time or an existing unit you want to expand. The units covered are based in Puducherry.

Is there an application deadline?

No. The scheme runs on a rolling basis, so applications are accepted throughout the year and you can apply whenever your project is ready to be put forward.

Does PIPDIC take equity or a stake in my business?

No. This is a loan scheme, so the support is debt that is repaid over time. PIPDIC does not take shares, a stake or any ownership interest in your micro-enterprise.

What is the application fee?

The fee is ₹100 for loans of up to ₹25,00,000 and ₹200 for loans above ₹25,00,000. Since this scheme lends a maximum of ₹2,00,000, the ₹100 slab applies. The fee is paid online at the end of the application, and a receipt is generated on the PIPDIC website that you can save or print.

How do I apply for the loan?

Everything happens on the PIPDIC website. You register as a new customer with a username, email ID, password and captcha, verify your email using an OTP, then complete your profile from the dashboard. From there you open the Applications tab, review and accept the terms and conditions, fill in the multi-step loan form, submit the declaration, enter the promoter bio-data, upload your documents and pay the application fee.

What documents will I need?

You will be asked for KYC papers and other supporting documents at the promoter bio-data stage, where each item has its own file-upload field. Before you begin, the portal shows a pop-up covering the general terms and conditions, interest rates, investigation fees and collateral security norms, and asks you to confirm that your papers are ready.

Can the loan be used to grow a business I already run?

Yes. The scheme covers fresh micro-enterprises as well as the expansion of units that are already operating, so the loan can go towards growth, machinery, infrastructure, working capital or other operational needs.

Do I need DPIIT or MSME registration to apply?

Those registrations are not among the conditions listed for this scheme. The published requirements relate to the promoter's SC/ST status, the micro-enterprise nature of the unit and its location in Puducherry. The portal's document checklist will show exactly which papers you need to attach.

How can I track my application or raise a complaint?

Log in to the PIPDIC customer dashboard and open 'View My application' to follow your application's progress. For support or a grievance, the scheme routes you to PIPDIC's Managing Director or its General Manager (Administration), who can be reached by phone or email using the contact details provided.
