• Submission: the unit files the prescribed application form together with supporting documents through the designated channel.
• Verification: officials examine the unit's registration status, its classification within a Focus Sector, its actual investment in plant and machinery, and the domicile status and payroll records of the workers claimed.
• Contribution check: the employer's ESI and EPF payments are verified against the amounts being claimed for reimbursement.
• Approval: the claim is sanctioned once all documentation and payments are found satisfactory.
• Ongoing claims: after the first approval, the unit continues to submit claims over the 7-year period, following the frequency and paperwork the policy prescribes.

If any document or condition falls short, the department can hold or reject the claim until it is set right.
