Selection process

SPRS is a registration rather than a contest for a limited pool of money, so applicants are not ranked against each other. What the process does is confirm that the unit is genuine and quantify the order value it can be trusted with.

  • Document review by NSIC: the application form and the papers filed with it are examined first.
  • Udyam verification: a valid Udyam Registration has to be in place before the file moves ahead.
  • Third-party inspection (fresh registrations): an independent agency visits the premises and inspects store items to assess capacity and conformity with standards.
  • Fixing the monetary limit: the ceiling on order value is derived from audited figures, chiefly net sales turnover for the previous three years, with separate treatment for units that have been profitable and those that have posted losses.
  • Certificate issue: on clearance, the certificate is generated online and a physical copy is despatched by post from the concerned NSIC office.
