Frequently asked questions

How much funding does the Mukhyamantri Gramin Street Vendor Rin Yojana offer?

The scheme does not publish a fixed loan amount — the figure varies. What it does specify is the purpose of the money: a bank loan that covers low-cost equipment for your business and your working capital (Karyasheela Punji) needs.

Is there a last date to apply?

No. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, which means the window stays open and there is no deadline you have to beat.

Who is eligible to apply for this scheme?

You must live in a rural area of Madhya Pradesh, be between 18 and 55 years of age, belong to the poor class, and be either a migrant worker or a small trader (street vendor). You should be seeking a loan either for an enterprise you already run in a rural area, or — if you are a migrant worker — to establish a new one.

Can I apply if I already run a business, or is this only for new ventures?

It covers both situations. Small traders and street vendors with an existing rural enterprise can apply for a loan, and migrant workers who want to set up a new enterprise can apply too. Migrant workers starting afresh have to complete EDP training as part of the process.

Does the scheme take equity in my business?

No. The support is extended as a bank loan, which is debt. You repay the bank rather than handing over a stake, so no equity is taken in your enterprise.

Is the Entrepreneurship Development Programme training compulsory?

Yes, for rural migrant workers who are establishing a new business. The training is delivered through Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI), and the loan is made available once any required training has been completed.

What details and documents will I need while applying?

You will need an active mobile number to register and receive the OTP, your Aadhaar number for e-KYC verification, and your Samagra ID so that family member details can be pulled up. You also need to provide business information, such as selecting your intended business from a dropdown. Keep the acknowledgement receipt (pavati) and the application number that arrives by SMS.

How do I apply for the scheme?

Applications are made online on the Gramin Kamgar Setu portal at kamgarsetu.mp.gov.in. You register with your mobile number and captcha, enter the OTP, pick your district and development block, and choose "Path Vikreta" under employment. That is followed by Aadhaar e-KYC, entry of your Samagra details along with the family members who help in the business, and then your business information. After ticking the declaration points, submit the form and save the acknowledgement.

What happens after I submit my application?

The application is verified by the Gramin Vikas Vibhag (Rural Development Department). If any inconsistency is found, you are given one chance to correct it, and the notification for that comes by SMS. Once everything is confirmed, you are issued an Identification Card and a Certificate, and the bank then takes forward the loan disbursement.

Which parts of Madhya Pradesh does the scheme cover?

It applies to rural areas of Madhya Pradesh. Applications are routed by district and development block when you register on the portal.
