Frequently asked questions
How much funding does this scheme provide?
You receive a subsidy equal to 15% of your approved fixed capital investment, subject to a maximum of ₹5 crore. Since the project must have approved capital expenditure of at least ₹1 crore, the smallest subsidy works out to roughly ₹15 lakh and the largest is ₹5 crore.
Does the government take equity or a stake in my project?
No. This is a capital investment subsidy, so the money is paid to you against the fixed capital you have invested and got approved. It is not an investment into your business, and no shares, equity or ownership stake change hands. The funding is non-dilutive.
What kinds of projects are eligible?
New projects in five categories qualify: film studios, film-making facilities, museums, aquariums and theme parks. The project also has to satisfy the Tourism Department's definition of a tourism project.
Is there a minimum investment required?
Yes. The project needs department-approved capital expenditure of at least ₹1,00,00,000 (₹1 crore). Your subsidy is then calculated as 15% of that approved investment.
Which legal entities can apply?
Public and private limited companies, partnership firms, proprietary concerns, cooperative societies, trusts, FPOs and individual applicants are all eligible. The scheme is open to both new and existing legal entities setting up a qualifying project.
What is the application deadline?
There is no fixed last date — the scheme runs on a rolling, always-open basis. What does carry a deadline is your own claim: the subsidy application must be submitted online within one year of the date your project commences commercial operation.
Do I have to keep the unit running after receiving the subsidy?
Yes. The unit must operate for at least three years from the date the subsidy is availed. If it shuts down before that, a proportional refund of the subsidy is required.
Can I claim this subsidy along with another state incentive for the same project?
No. An applicant cannot claim a capital subsidy or investment promotion assistance for the same project under any other category of this policy.
How and where do I apply?
Register on the Madhya Pradesh government's online single-window Invest Portal (sws.invest.mp.gov.in) as a Vendor/Investor, providing your organisation type, firm or company name, authorised person's name, email ID and mobile number. Log in with the generated user ID and password and complete your profile. Then secure the mandatory permissions through the same system, build the project to the required capital outlay and file the capital subsidy application online within one year of commencing operations, with all required documents in the specified formats. The Tourism Department or Board verifies the application and documents and processes the claim.
Is there a competitive selection round or pitch event?
No. There is no jury, pitch or multi-stage competition. Evaluation is compliance-based: the department checks the project's category, the approved capital expenditure, when the application was filed relative to the start of operations, and whether any other incentive has been claimed for the same project.
