Applications are reviewed and processed by the Tourism Department/Board. There is no competitive shortlisting round — the appraisal is a verification exercise carried out against the scheme guidelines.

The department checks three things in particular:

• Whether the applicant and the proposed tourism project meet the eligibility conditions.
• Whether the capital expenditure claimed matches what was actually incurred.
• Whether every submitted document complies with the requirements set out in the Tourism Policy 2025.

Once these verifications are complete and found satisfactory, the subsidy claim is taken forward for disbursement.
