Selection runs in layers, and not every applicant moves to the next round.

1. Screening and shortlisting. Applications are examined by District committees and State committees. These committees may also conduct a physical background verification of any shortlisted candidate if they judge it necessary.

2. Interview and inspection. Applicants who clear screening enter an interview and inspection phase. This can include a virtual pitch, a physical interview and an on-site inspection of the proposed establishment. Representatives from the relevant Department and teams from the partner banks take part at this stage.
