Frequently asked questions

Who runs the Mahila Samiriddhi Yojana?

The scheme is implemented by the Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam, the state corporation responsible for backward class welfare in Haryana.

How much money can I get under this scheme?

A beneficiary can access a loan of up to ₹1,25,000. The amount is sanctioned either to an individual woman entrepreneur or to a self-help group, and it is meant to be used for business purposes.

Is this a grant or a loan? Does the scheme take equity in my business?

It is a loan, not a grant, so the amount has to be repaid. Since the funding is debt-based, the scheme takes no equity or ownership share in your business — it is non-dilutive.

Who is eligible to apply?

You need to be a woman aged between 18 and 55, a permanent resident of Haryana, and from a Backward Class family. Your annual family income should not be more than ₹3,00,000, and you must hold a Pariwar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID). All of these conditions have to be met.

Can a self-help group apply, and what are the membership rules?

Yes, self-help groups can apply. At least 60% of the group's members have to be from Backward Classes, while the remaining 40% may come from other weaker sections such as SC, handicapped or minority communities. The loan can be released directly to the group.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration?

No. Neither DPIIT recognition nor MSME registration figures among the conditions for this scheme. What is required is a Pariwar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID), along with the age, community, income and residency criteria.

What documents do I need to apply?

The essential item is your Pariwar Pehchan Patra number (Family ID), which you enter on the portal so that your family data can be fetched and verified by OTP. The online form also requires you to upload the supporting documents it asks for, so keep them ready before you begin.

Is there an application deadline?

No fixed last date has been set. The scheme operates on a rolling basis and stays open, so applications can be submitted at any time through the official portal.

How do I apply for the Mahila Samiriddhi Yojana?

Applications are made online on the Antyodaya-SARAL Portal. First register as a new user with your name, email ID, mobile number, password and state, then verify the account by OTP. Log in, go to 'Apply for Services' and then 'View all Available Services', search for 'Mahila Samiriddhi Yojana' and open the form. Enter your Parivar Pehchan Patra number to fetch family data, pick the applicant name, verify with an OTP sent to that family member, fill in the mandatory details, upload the required documents, preview everything and submit.

How can I check the status of my application?

After submitting, you can track progress on the official Antyodaya-SARAL Portal. You will need to provide your Department Name, Scheme Name and Application Reference ID to pull up the status.
