Selection process

There is no competitive shortlisting or pitch round here. Claims are assessed on compliance — whether the applicant meets the eligibility conditions and whether the audit and its costs are properly documented. Approved claims are then reimbursed.

In practice the journey looks like this:

  • Get the audit done. Engage a qualified, approved energy auditor to carry out a full audit of the unit, and make sure the report and the cost invoices are drawn up as the policy guidelines require.
  • Assemble the claim. Gather proof of MSME registration, the audit report, the auditor's invoices, payment receipts and any other forms specified under the Maharashtra Industries Investment and Services Policy 2025.
  • File the claim. Submit the application and supporting papers to the nodal agency or department that disburses incentives under the policy — in practice this usually means applying through the MAITRI portal at https://maitri.maharashtra.gov.in/login.
  • Verification. Officials scrutinise the submission against the eligibility conditions and documentation requirements.
  • Disbursement. Once verification succeeds, the approved subsidy is transferred straight into the MSME's bank account.
