Selection process

Assessment runs through district-level committees before a bank is ever involved.

Applications filed online are first examined by the District Level Scrutiny and Coordination Sub-Committee (DLSCC), which is chaired by the General Manager of the relevant District Industries Centre. The DLSCC checks each application against the scheme's eligibility norms and draws up a preliminary list of qualified applicants. That list then goes to the District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC), which must approve it. Only after DLTFC clearance are the applications passed on to participating banks for their own appraisal and loan sanction.

Step by step, the journey looks like this:

  • Online application: submit the form on the official CMEGP portal.
  • District-level scrutiny: the DLSCC, chaired by the General Manager of the DIC, reviews the applications.
  • Primary list: the DLSCC prepares a list of eligible applicants.
  • DLTFC approval: the District Level Task Force Committee approves that list.
  • Bank forwarding: approved applicants are sent to participating banks.
  • Sanction and training: banks sanction the term loan, and beneficiaries complete Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) training.
  • Disbursement: the loan amount is released after sanction and training.
  • Subsidy claim: the bank claims the margin money from the General Manager, DIC.
  • Subsidy release: the Head Office approves the claim and the margin money is disbursed through the nodal bank.
  • Re-appropriation: after three successful years of activity and timely repayment, the margin money is re-appropriated into the loan account once the General Manager, DIC validates it.
