Livelihood Opportunity Promotion Scheme (SC) — Uttarakhand Loan Up to ₹1.9L — Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Livelihood Opportunity Promotion Scheme (SC) — Uttarakhand Loan Up to ₹1.9L — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much funding does this scheme provide?

The total package works out to roughly ₹45,000 to ₹1.9 lakh, depending on what the project costs. It is assembled from three parts — a bank loan worth 60% of the project cost, margin money worth 30%, and a grant of up to ₹10,000. The project itself has to be costed between ₹50,000 and ₹2,00,000.

Who is eligible to apply for the scheme?

You must hold permanent residency in Uttarakhand and belong to the Scheduled Caste category. Your age has to fall between 18 and 50 years, and your yearly income cannot exceed ₹1,05,600 in rural areas or ₹1,29,840 in urban areas. All four conditions need to be met.

Is there a deadline to apply?

No. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, so there is no closing date to plan around. You can file your form whenever your proposal is ready.

Do I have to put in my own money?

It depends on the size of the project. Ventures costing up to ₹1,00,000 need no personal contribution at all. If your project costs between ₹1,01,000 and ₹2,00,000, you have to contribute 10% of the project cost yourself.

Does the scheme take equity in my business?

No. This is a debt-and-grant package, not an equity investor — no stake or ownership share is taken in your venture. The bank loan is repayable, the margin money is repayable with applicable interest over 60 monthly installments, and the grant of up to ₹10,000 is the only portion that is not repaid.

How and where do I apply?

Get the prescribed application form from the official portal at ukbvvn.org.in. Fill in every mandatory field accurately and attach self-attested copies of the required documents. Submit the signed form along with all supporting papers to your local Vikas Khand (Block Development) Office, and keep a copy of the submission for your own records.

What documents are needed with the application?

You will need proof of residence, your caste certificate, age proof and an income certificate, self-attested wherever required, submitted together with the completed and signed application form. Make sure no mandatory field is left blank before you file it.

Who reviews the applications and decides the beneficiaries?

Submitted proposals are forwarded to the District Social Welfare Officer. A District-Level Committee chaired by that officer then reviews every application, examining both the applicant's eligibility and the viability of the proposed project, before finalising who receives support under the scheme.

What kind of project can I propose?

Any self-employment venture or small business that fits within the ₹50,000 to ₹2,00,000 cost band. The scheme is intended for micro-enterprises and livelihood activities, and the district committee judges each proposal on how viable it is.

Can I apply for a project costing more than ₹2,00,000?

No. ₹2,00,000 is the upper limit on project cost under this scheme, and proposals above that figure fall outside its scope.
