Himachal Pradesh Lease Rental Subsidy — Up to ₹20 Lakh — Frequently Asked Questions

It is a cash incentive from the Government of Himachal Pradesh that offsets part of the rent an eligible technology enterprise pays for its premises in the state. It operates under the Himachal Pradesh IT, ITeS and ESDM Policy 2019 and is administered by the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh, under Startup Himachal.

It depends on the sector and the year of the claim. IT and ITeS enterprises get 75% of lease rental up to ₹15 lakh in year one, 50% up to ₹10 lakh in year two, and 25% up to ₹5 lakh in each of years three, four and five. ESDM enterprises and Green Data Centres get 85% up to ₹20 lakh in year one, 60% up to ₹15 lakh in year two, and 35% up to ₹10 lakh annually for the remaining three years. The single largest yearly benefit available is ₹20 lakh.

The scheme is open to IT enterprises, ITeS enterprises, ESDM enterprises and Green Data Centres operating in Himachal Pradesh. The enterprise needs to be running from leased premises in the state and must meet the conditions set out in the IT, ITeS and ESDM Policy 2019.

A maximum of five years, counted from the commencement of operations at the leased premises.

Existing enterprises can apply. The policy is designed to support both fresh investment and the expansion of units already operating in the state, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.
