Jharkhand Startup Policy - Rental Assistance for Startups — Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Jharkhand Startup Policy's Rental Assistance, startups must meet a specific set of criteria, ensuring support reaches genuine early to mid-stage ventures committed to operating within the state.

• The startup must be formally registered in Jharkhand, demonstrating its commitment to the state's economic development.
• Its annual turnover must be under ₹25 Crore. This threshold helps ensure the program supports scaling startups, not large, established corporations.
• The startup must have been incorporated for less than 5 years, focusing assistance on early-stage companies facing significant initial challenges.
• It must employ up to 50 employees, targeting businesses in their growth phase that need resources to expand.
• The workspace for which rental assistance is sought must be located exclusively in a notified Software Technology Park of India (STPI), Special Economic Zone (SEZ), or IT Park within Jharkhand. This encourages startups to establish operations in designated technology hubs offering better infrastructure and a collaborative environment.
• The lease agreement for the office space must be explicitly in the startup's name, ensuring transparency and verifying the startup is the direct occupant responsible for the rental expense.
• Eligible legal structures include Private Limited Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs).
