IPS Scheme for Marine Products Processing Units — Up to ₹50L Subsidy — Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about IPS Scheme for Marine Products Processing Units — Up to ₹50L Subsidy — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much funding can a unit receive under this scheme?

The benefit is a credit-linked interest subsidy covering 60% of the interest on the unit's loan, subject to a ceiling of ₹50 lakh per annum. It is not a single lump-sum payout — the subsidy runs alongside the loan for up to five years or until repayment is complete, whichever comes first.

How long does the interest subsidy continue?

For a maximum of 5 years, or for the period over which the loan is being repaid, whichever is shorter. Once the loan is fully repaid, the subsidy stops.

Does the scheme take equity or a stake in my company?

No. This is a subsidy — specifically an interest subsidy linked to your loan. It is not an equity investment, and no shares or ownership stake are given up in exchange for the support.

Which units are eligible to apply?

The scheme is meant for marine products processing units that are either new manufacturing or service units, or existing manufacturing or service units going in for expansion or diversification, and that fall within the MSME sector. They must be based in the UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu and must have started commercial production within the scheme's operative period.

Where must the unit be located?

The unit has to be located inside the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu.

When should commercial production have started?

Between May 20, 2022 and May 19, 2027 — the period during which the scheme is operative.

What is the application deadline?

There is no single cut-off date that applies to every applicant. The application must be submitted online within one year of the first disbursement of the loan, or on or before the date commercial production begins, whichever is earlier. The scheme itself stays in force up to May 19, 2027.

Is DPIIT recognition or MSME/Udyam registration compulsory?

The eligibility conditions require the unit to be in the MSME sector, but they do not separately lay down a DPIIT recognition or Udyam registration requirement. Since the online Common Application Form asks for mandatory documents to be uploaded, it is worth confirming the exact paperwork with the District Industries Centre DD & DNH before you file.
