Selection process
Every claim is routed through the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce. There is no pitch round or interview — the assessment is documentary.
- Submission: the application, in the prescribed format, is filed with DITC after the close of each financial year.
- Verification: DITC checks the validity of the local purchases claimed, whether the unit meets the 50% local sourcing requirement, and whether it is registered under the Goa State Incentives to Encourage Investments Scheme.
- Review: the application is assessed against the scheme's eligibility criteria and conditions.
- Disbursement: approved claims are paid subject to the budgetary allocation available. If the budget is exceeded and the benefit is discontinued, no promissory estoppel applies.
Applicants are also expected to give DITC officials free access for inspection and to furnish the reports and documents the department seeks. Incorrect information can lead to the subsidy being revoked and the amount recovered.
