Who is allowed to take part in Ideathon 2026?

No. The ₹3,000 prize is a cash award, not an investment, so the organisers take no equity or ownership stake in your idea or venture. You keep full rights to whatever you present.
When is the deadline, and when does the event happen?
Registration closes on 31 July 2026. The competition itself is held offline on 1 August 2026 at Jai Shriram Engineering College, Tiruppur, so plan to be on campus that day.
What themes or sectors can I submit an idea under?
The organisers accept concepts spanning Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Cities, Agriculture, Healthcare, Education Technology, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, FinTech, Robotics, Social Innovation and Open Innovation. Any of these tracks is fair game.
How are the entries judged?
There are two rounds. First, you present your idea to the panel using a PowerPoint deck; then, in a jury interaction round, you answer questions about feasibility, innovation, implementation strategy and impact. Scoring is based on innovation and creativity, problem identification, feasibility, technical approach, business potential, social impact, presentation skills and scalability.
What do participants who do not win get?
Every participant receives a certificate of participation, feedback from the expert judging panel on the idea they presented, and networking opportunities with other student innovators and the EDC team.
