Approval is not automatic — every application is evaluated before any reimbursement is released.

• Screening: the nodal agency first checks that the application is complete and clears the basic eligibility conditions.
• Document review: a verification committee or designated officials examine the financial records behind the claim, including net SGST payments and Fixed Capital Investment.
• Site verification: an on-site inspection may be carried out to confirm that the unit is operational and that its location falls in the category claimed.
• Assessment against policy: the committee matches the application to the reimbursement rates and the 80% ceiling set out in the Industrial Investment Policy 2019.
• Final approval: reimbursement is sanctioned on the strength of that evaluation and the committee's recommendation, so that only genuinely eligible units receive the incentive.
