The ceiling depends on which activity you take up. Periodic environmental audits are supported up to ₹50,000, monitoring systems up to ₹5,00,000, Green Building Certification up to ₹2,50,000, Environmental Management Systems up to ₹10,00,000, cluster-based equipment purchase up to ₹35,00,000 and wastewater recovery systems up to ₹75,00,000. Each of these is also capped as a share of the actual fees or cost, so the subsidy is a percentage of your spend rather than a flat hand-out.

There are six covered heads: periodic environmental audits, the installation of monitoring systems, Green Building Certification, Environmental Management Systems, Cluster-Based Equipment Purchase and Wastewater Recovery Systems. Your project needs to fall within one of these categories to qualify for assistance.

Eligible applicants are MSMEs registered in Gujarat under the applicable industrial laws, engaged in manufacturing or production work, and compliant with the environmental regulations and standards in force. The project you seek assistance for must focus on environmental protection measures, and you must adopt the green practices laid out in the scheme.

Neither. This is a subsidy, so the money is non-dilutive — the government does not take a stake in your business and you are not expected to repay the amount. You receive a share of the cost you have already incurred on an approved activity.

The eligibility conditions set out for this scheme do not include any DPIIT recognition requirement. What they do require is registration in Gujarat under the applicable industrial laws, manufacturing or production activity, compliance with environmental regulations, and a project built around environmental protection.

Applications are made offline. Download and complete the prescribed application form, attach the documents required under the scheme guidelines, and prepare a statement of the expenditure you have incurred on the project. Submit the whole set to the concerned District Industries Centre for activities 1, 2 and 3, or to the Industries Commissionerate office for activities 4, 5 and 6. There are two timelines to keep in mind. The scheme itself is valid until 6 August 2025, and separately, your claim has to be filed within six months of the date on which the eligible activity or project was completed. Miss that six-month window and the claim will not be considered.

You need the duly filled prescribed application form, the relevant documents required under the scheme guidelines, and full details of the expenditure incurred for the project. The expenditure statement is central to the claim, since the subsidy is calculated as a percentage of your actual cost.

No. The scheme does not run a competitive selection process. Assistance is disbursed once a valid claim, supported by the necessary documents and expenditure details, is submitted — and that disbursement is subject to the availability of the grant funds allocated for the scheme.
