Gujarat MSME Capital Investment Subsidy (Manufacturing) — Up to ₹45L — Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Gujarat MSME Capital Investment Subsidy (Manufacturing) — Up to ₹45L — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much funding does the Capital Investment Subsidy provide?

The subsidy is calculated as a share of your sanctioned term loan and is capped by location. Category 1 talukas give 25% of the loan up to ₹35,00,000, plus another ₹10,00,000 if Eligible Fixed Capital Investment exceeds ₹10,00,00,000 — a maximum of ₹45,00,000. Category 2 talukas offer 20% up to ₹30,00,000 plus ₹7,50,000, totalling ₹37,50,000. Category 3 talukas and Municipal Corporation areas offer 10% up to ₹15,00,000 plus ₹5,00,000, coming to ₹20,00,000.

Which enterprises are allowed to apply?

The applicant has to be a Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise operating in the manufacturing sector, and it must hold a term loan sanctioned by a recognised bank or financial institution. NBFC lending is excluded from the scheme. The unit also has to remain operational for a minimum of seven years after the subsidy is approved and must comply with applicable pollution control and environmental rules.

Is there a deadline for submitting the application?

There are two timing tests, and the earlier one governs. You must file within one year of your term loan being disbursed, or before you begin commercial production — whichever happens first. Separately, the scheme itself is in force until 6 August 2025, so applications cannot be made beyond that scheme window.

Does the scheme take equity in my company?

No. This is a government subsidy, not an equity investment. The Industries and Mines Department does not receive shares, board rights or any ownership stake in return for the money — the support is non-dilutive and simply reduces the cost of your capital investment.

Do I need DPIIT recognition to claim this subsidy?

The stated conditions for this component revolve around MSME status, manufacturing activity and a sanctioned term loan from a bank or financial institution. DPIIT recognition is not listed among the requirements for this subsidy. If your situation is unusual, it is worth confirming directly with the department's helpdesk before you apply.

Can I claim the subsidy for more than one project type?

No. Under this scheme only one category of investment project is eligible — either Forward Integration, Backward Integration, Diversification or Expansion. You cannot stack claims across multiple project types for the same scheme.

What do I have to commit to after receiving the money?

Two commitments apply. First, the enterprise must continue operating for at least seven years from the date the subsidy is approved. Second, it must stay compliant with all relevant pollution control measures and environmental regulations.

What documents are needed for the application?

The published guidance for this scheme does not itemise the paperwork. The Investor Facilitation Portal prompts you to complete your business details and upload the mandatory supporting documents as part of the application. Since eligibility and the subsidy quantum are both derived from your term loan, the sanction and disbursement records from your bank or financial institution sit at the centre of the case.

How and where do I apply?

Applications are made online through Gujarat's Investor Facilitation Portal. Start by choosing 'New Investor Registration' on the portal and completing the registration form. A verification link arrives by email — click it to confirm your address, after which your registration is active. Then log back in with your email and password, open your account dashboard, fill in the business details and upload the required documents to complete the subsidy application. Assistance is available through the helpdesk linked under 'Contact Here' on the portal.
