Selection process

Applications move through a defined, time-bound review rather than a single desk decision. The stages, and the timelines usually attached to them, are:

  • Scrutiny — around D+30: on receiving the incentive application, officials examine the documents submitted and verify that the eligibility conditions are satisfied. This scrutiny is typically completed within 30 days.
  • Approval by the Empowered Committee — around D+60: the scrutinised application is forwarded to an Empowered Committee, which is expected to take a decision within 60 days from the date the application was received.
  • Sanction and disbursement — around D+90: once the application is approved, sanction orders are issued and the subsidy is released, with disbursement initiated within 90 days of the application being received.

Applicants therefore have a reasonably predictable view of when their money will arrive, from the day they file.
