Goa Logistics & Warehousing Interest Subsidy — Up to ₹25L/Year — Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Goa Logistics & Warehousing Interest Subsidy — Up to ₹25L/Year — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much subsidy can a project receive in a single year?

A project can claim back half of the interest it pays on the qualifying loan in a year, and the total reimbursement for that year cannot go beyond ₹25,00,000. That figure is a ceiling per project rather than a flat payout — what you actually receive depends on how much interest your loan carries.

For how many years does the subsidy continue?

Most projects can draw it for 3 consecutive years, counted from the date the loan was taken. If your facility sits in a Backward Taluka, or the business is owned by a Woman entrepreneur or by an entrepreneur from the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe communities, the benefit extends to 5 consecutive years.

Who is eligible for the Goa logistics and warehousing interest subsidy?

The scheme is for non-mega industries that own a unit delivering logistics and warehousing services in Goa. The unit must have been running continuously for at least six months from the date the Logistics and Warehousing Policy 2023 was notified, and the loan you claim on must have been taken after the policy launch. You also need a PAN with Income Tax Returns filed regularly in the legal entity's name, at least 40% Goan employment, a project meeting the minimum land area for its category, term and/or working capital loans from an approved lender, and no similar benefit already claimed from another State or Central scheme.

Which loans and which lenders qualify?

The subsidy applies to term loans and/or working capital loans availed specifically for project construction, covering land acquisition and related expenses. Approved sources include nationalized banks, scheduled private banks, co-operative banks, Economic Development Corporation Limited (EDC Ltd.), and Non-Banking Financial Institutions recognised by the Reserve Bank of India. A loan that is already covered under a separate government employment generation or interest rebate scheme will not be considered.

Does the size of the benefit depend on how many local people I employ?

Yes. A minimum of 40% Goan employment is compulsory. If 60% or more of your workforce is Goan, you receive the full benefit; if Goan employees make up more than 40% but less than 60%, the benefit is scaled down to 80%.

Is there a minimum land area for eligibility?

The requirement differs by project category. A Logistics Park needs 1 acre. A Warehouse needs 1,000 square metres, relaxed to 500 square metres for Backward Talukas, Women entrepreneurs and SC/ST entrepreneurs. A Cold Chain Unit needs 200 square metres, relaxed to 100 square metres for those same categories.

What happens if I miss filing my annual claim one year?

You can still file the delayed claim in the following year. It stays valid as long as it falls inside the overall subsidy eligibility period set out in the scheme guidelines.

Is this equity funding, or does the government take a stake?

Neither. This is a subsidy — a reimbursement of interest you have already paid to your lender. The state takes no equity, shares or board rights in your business, and the subsidy amount itself is not repayable.

What is the last date to apply?

There is no fixed deadline. The scheme runs on a rolling basis and applications are accepted continuously. Once a complete application is submitted, the administration's stated target is to finish sanctioning within 90 days.

How do I apply for the interest subsidy?
