Who is eligible to apply?
New and existing Information Technology Units whose operations are located in Goa. The unit has to be genuinely operating in the state, not merely registered there.
Which types of business entities are accepted?
Proprietorship Firms, Private Limited Companies, Public Limited Companies, Registered Partnership Firms, and Limited Liability Partnerships are all eligible, provided the other conditions are met.
Is Aadhaar linking required?
Yes. The bank account of the unit, or of its partners or directors, must be linked to Aadhaar for the unit to qualify under the scheme.
Is there an application deadline?
No. The scheme is rolling and stays open. Once you have incurred the patent filing expenditure, you can put in a claim on a quarterly, bi-annual, or annual basis.
How do I submit an application?
Apply through the official Goa Online web portal. Register a user account by verifying your email ID and mobile number, complete the registration form with the mandatory details, create a login, accept the terms and click Register/Signup. Log in with those credentials, go to Services and then IT Services, and select the scheme. Fill in every mandatory field of the online form, upload the required documents, and submit. A unique registration number is generated on submission — note it down for future reference.
Does the scheme take equity in my company?
No. This is a reimbursement paid against expenditure the unit has already incurred, not an investment. The department does not take any equity or ownership stake in the business in exchange for the money.
How long does the approval and payment process take?
Checklist-based scrutiny of the application happens within 30 days of receipt (D+30). The Empowered Committee then reviews and approves applications within D+60. For approved units, the sanction order and disbursement follow within D+90. Unsuccessful applicants receive a regret letter.
