Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Incentives to Green Investment Scheme — Up to ₹10L for Goa Manufacturers — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.
Frequently asked questions
How much money does the Incentives to Green Investment Scheme give?
There are two separate reimbursements. Water and energy audits are reimbursed at 25% of the cost incurred, up to ₹1,00,000 per unit. Energy conservation equipment is reimbursed at 40% of its capital cost, up to ₹10,00,000 per unit.
Which units are eligible to apply?
Any manufacturing unit operating in Goa qualifies, regardless of size — Micro, Small, Medium and Large category units are all covered by the scheme.
Is there a last date to submit an application?
No. The scheme runs on a rolling basis and remains open, so you can apply at any point in the year rather than racing a fixed deadline.
Does the scheme take equity or a stake in my unit?
No. This is a reimbursement-based subsidy paid in cash. There is no equity dilution, no ownership stake handed over, and nothing to repay — you fund the spend first and are reimbursed afterwards.
Do I need BEE certification for the audit or the equipment?
Yes. Water and energy audits must be conducted by a recognised institution or consultant certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India. Energy conservation equipment must similarly be certified as an energy-conserving fixed asset of a capital nature by a BEE-certified institution or consultant.
Can I claim this subsidy alongside other government schemes?
Yes, the benefit is additive to other State and Central subsidy schemes. The one condition is that your total subsidy from all government sources — including this scheme and interest subsidies on soft loans — must not exceed 100% of the purchase value of the equipment.
Can the equipment reimbursement be claimed more than once?
Yes. A single unit may claim the capital reimbursement multiple times, as long as the total never exceeds the maximum ceiling for that benefit.
What documents do I need to submit?
You will need the prescribed application proforma with the self-declaration filled in, technical certifications or reports such as the water and energy audit report or the energy conservation equipment certification from a BEE-certified consultant, and a Chartered Accountant's certificate. That certificate must confirm the equipment purchase value, carry the supporting invoices, and list all subsidies received — including soft loans and interest — plus any benefits from similar Government of India schemes.
How and where do I apply?
The process is offline. Once your proforma, self-declaration, certifications and Chartered Accountant's certificate are ready, submit the complete package to the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce (DITC) at Udyog Bhavan, Panaji.
What happens after my application is submitted?
A Task Force Committee scrutinises the application — with a representative from the Goa Energy Development Corporation on the panel — and recommends whether benefits should be approved. After disbursement, you must stay compliant with the scheme's terms, which includes allowing authorised DITC officials to inspect your unit, registers and employees from time to time.
