Frequently asked questions

What is Fulcrum 2026 – Strategic Transformation?

It is a consulting case competition organised by the PGDM (GM) Class of 2026-27 at XLRI, Jamshedpur, as part of the Fulcrum Consulting Conclave. Teams work through a case built around the theme Product Leadership in a changing world and compete for cash prizes across two rounds.

How much prize money is on offer?

The overall prize pool is up to ₹30,000. The first-placed team receives ₹20,000 and the second-placed team receives ₹10,000.

Who is eligible to participate in Fulcrum 2026?

The competition is open to students enrolled in a 1-Year MBA, a 2-Year MBA or a PGDM programme. Eligibility is based on your programme of study, not on any company registration or business stage.

What are the team size and team composition rules?

A team can have between 1 and 3 members, and every member must be from the same college. Each individual participant may be part of only one team, so you cannot enter with two different groups.

Is there a limit on how many teams one college can send?

No. There is no restriction on the number of teams that can participate from the same institute, so several teams from one college can register for the same edition.

What is the application deadline and where do I register?

Registration closes on 15 July 2026 and is done on the Unstop platform. The event page also carries the detailed guidelines and submission instructions, so check it before you file your entry.

How does the competition actually run?

There are two rounds. Round 1 is a quiz that must be completed within a 10-minute time limit. Round 2 moves to the submission stage, where teams put together their case output and a recorded presentation.

What do I need to submit in Round 2?

You submit a PPT or PDF deck of at most 6 slides, excluding the title slide and the thank-you slide, along with a 6-minute video presentation delivered as though you were in front of a judging panel. Both files must be named in the format InstituteName_TeamName.

Does Fulcrum take equity or a stake in my business?

No. Fulcrum 2026 is a case competition with cash prizes, so the rewards are paid out as prize money and no equity or ownership stake is taken from participants.

Do I need DPIIT or MSME registration to take part?

No. Fulcrum 2026 is a student competition, and eligibility rests on being enrolled in an MBA or PGDM programme. DPIIT recognition and MSME registration are not part of the entry criteria.
