Selection process
1. Submission of the application. The unit files a detailed application form with the nodal department in Chhattisgarh — the Department of Industries or the relevant district industrial centre — supported by all the required paperwork.
2. Documentation. The file normally carries proof of establishment in the pharmaceutical sector, invoices and payment receipts for the ETP installation, the technical specifications of the plant, and the relevant permits.
3. CECB certification. A certificate is obtained from the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board (CECB) confirming that the Effluent Treatment Plant has been installed and that environmental norms are met. This is the pivotal document in the file.
4. Verification and assessment. Authorities scrutinise the application against the eligibility conditions and check the accuracy of the submitted records, including the financial evidence of ETP spending. Site visits may be carried out to confirm that the plant is installed and operational.
5. Sanction. Once verification is complete and the CECB certificate is in order, the subsidy claim is approved by the competent authority.
6. Disbursement. The sanctioned amount — up to 50% of the expenses or ₹1 Crore, whichever is lower — is credited to the eligible unit's bank account.
