Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana — ₹5L SME Exchange Subsidy — Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions founders most often ask about Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana — ₹5L SME Exchange Subsidy — who qualifies, the funding amount, required documents and how the application works.

Frequently asked questions

How much funding does this component provide?

An eligible MSME can claim reimbursement of up to 30% of the total expenditure it incurred while raising capital through an SME Exchange. The maximum payable is ₹5,00,000.

Who can apply for this assistance?

The enterprise must be a micro, small or medium business, an SC/ST entrepreneur must hold a contribution of 51% or more in it, and it must have already raised equity capital through an SME Exchange.

What counts as an SC/ST enterprise under the scheme?

It is an enterprise where the SC/ST entrepreneur's contribution is 51% or more. Ownership at that level is the qualifying threshold.

Do I need to have listed on an SME Exchange before applying?

Yes. A completed equity capital raise through an SME Exchange is a core eligibility condition. Planning or preparing for a listing is not enough.

Is there a time limit for filing the application after listing?

Yes. The application must be made within one year from the date of listing on the SME Exchange.

Is the scheme always open, or is there a fixed deadline?

The scheme is listed as rolling and always open, so there is no single cut-off date for applications. Do keep in mind that the umbrella Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana operated from 7 August 2020 to 6 August 2025, and that the one-year window from your listing date still applies.

Does the government take equity in my company for this subsidy?

The assistance itself is a reimbursement of expenditure, not an investment, so it does not dilute your shareholding. Separately, Gujarat Venture Finance Limited may consider taking an equity stake in enterprises that are successfully registered and listed on an SME Exchange — that would be a distinct arrangement.

Do I need DPIIT recognition or MSME registration to apply?

The eligibility conditions described for this component do not include a DPIIT recognition requirement. What matters is MSME scale, an SC/ST contribution of 51% or more, a completed equity raise on an SME Exchange, and filing within one year of the listing date.

How do I apply?

Applications are made online through the Gujarat Government's Investor Facilitation Portal. You first create a new investor registration, fill in the form and submit it, then click the verification link sent to your registered email to activate the account. After logging in, you enter your enterprise details, upload the mandatory supporting documents and submit the application.

What documents will I need?

The portal requires mandatory supporting documents relating to your SME Exchange listing and to the expenditure you are claiming. These are uploaded along with your enterprise details at the time of application.
