Selection process
Applications are assessed by the Department of Industries, Government of Andhra Pradesh, against the conditions set out in Section 7.4 of the IDP 4.0 policy.
The department first screens each submission for basic eligibility. This check confirms the unit's Red category classification, whether the industry falls under Sub-Large, Large, Mega or Ultra-Mega, and whether the proposed spending genuinely goes into climate-friendly machinery, plant and equipment.
The project proposal is then evaluated on its feasibility, its environmental impact and how well it aligns with the policy's objectives. Alongside this, the eligible Fixed Capital Investment is scrutinised, because the FCI figure determines the maximum subsidy an applicant can receive.
Final approval follows a consolidated assessment covering the application and the project's compliance with all the stated terms of the policy.
