Proposals are examined by a dedicated committee made up of officials from the Department of Industries, the Environment Department and other connected state bodies.

The committee weighs each application on the following points:

• Eligibility — confirming the unit's sector matches the approved categories
• Technical feasibility — whether the proposed water recycling, harvesting or zero-discharge technology is technically sound and likely to work
• Environmental impact — how much the project would genuinely contribute to conservation and waste reduction
• Financial viability — the unit's financial health and the economic case for the investment
• Policy alignment — whether the project fits the objectives and guidelines of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to undergo a site visit or take part in further discussions to clear up open questions, after which the selection committee issues its final decision.
