How to Apply for Chhattisgarh Stamp Duty Exemption — 100% Waiver for MSME Loan Deeds

Approval here is an administrative exercise, not a contest. No pitches are made, no selection committee sits, and there is nothing to win against other applicants.

Step 1 — Read the policy. Applicants begin by going through the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024-30, particularly Section 4(b) and the general incentive application procedure. The document is published on the Invest Chhattisgarh portal.

Step 2 — Assemble the documents. The file normally carries the MSME Udyam registration certificate, the bank or financial institution's loan sanction letter, copies of the loan deeds (mortgage, hypothecation and the like) and any forms or affidavits the state prescribes.

Step 3 — Fill the prescribed form. The industrial incentive application form is obtained from the District Industries Centre (DIC) or downloaded from the Invest Chhattisgarh website.

Step 4 — Submit. The complete package with all annexures goes to the designated authority, usually the District Industries Centre or the relevant wing of the Industries Department of Chhattisgarh.

Step 5 — Verification. Officials from the Department of Industries or the DIC examine the application against the Section 4(b) criteria — confirming MSME status, the nature and sanction date of the loan, and that the deeds relate to those approved advances. Applicants may be asked to answer queries or supply extra information at this point.

Step 6 — Exemption granted. Once the documents check out and eligibility is confirmed, the 100% stamp duty exemption is applied to the qualifying loan deeds for the permitted period.
